Porsche OPC Bournemouth have a 2009 Boxster for £22900 with 45k miles on sale but it comes with only 3 month aftermarket warranty .I have asked questions about the car but the plot gets thicker ,the car is listed on OPC web site as an approved car but the salesman tells me that its not an approved car ? I have asked did it fail the 111 point inspection but only get the run around but never a straight answer WTF :dont know:

I'd guess that it probably hasn't got full OPC service history.

I'd thought that T8 or a rev range issue perhaps :dont know:

Fishy from the start.. Stay clear!

The car is probably SOR .. Sale Or Return but even so it should still have a 111 point check/warrenty done.

Basically without a Porsche warrenty they aint aloud to sell it , big fines from Porsche if they find out.

Only a classic car would aloud to be sold that way .. and i dont think its a classic.

Hi Demort its deffo on the Approved Porsche Bournemouth web site and that says it has a 2 years warranty but when I emailed the sale guys he has replied that its not got a 2 year warranty and its not an Approved Porsche its total nonsense :dont know:

Another OPC had a 2010 Boxster that was in the same boat about 3 years back. They said that the only reason it couldn't be pushed through the OPC program was due to having aftermarket front parking sensors.

Hi Chris

Thank you for your reply, the vehicle does get a comprehensive check, but doesn't get the approved warranty.

Kind regards

A classic car from memory had to be 10 years or older , it couldn,t have a porsche warrenty as too old so could be sold without it.

EVERYTHING else MUST have a 111 point check and a Porsche warrenty .. the RAC do random checks on dealers and inspect their stock .. if a car like that was advertised as approved but didnt have a full 111 check/warrenty then the fine would be HUGE .. so unless the rules have changed in the last year which im unaware of then i really dont understand this.

Either way there are far too many cars out there for sale and if your buying from a dealer then the whole point is to get a porsche warrenty .. after all thats what you are paying the inflated price for !!

A Porsche Dealership is not aloud to sell some cars with a 111 / warrenty and those that fail sell without .. they HAVE to repair them to 111 standard or they cant sell them.

If you really want to cause a fuss .. phone Porsche reading or customer services and ask lol

Hi Demort I known that I could cause a real s4it storm with Porsche GB over this but I doubt I would ever get the car at the ticket price with a 2 year Porsche Warranty ,but I may just have a poke for a bit of fun, it totally contradicts everything about an Approved Porsche thanks for your thoughts and input :thumb:

Im baffled why they are doing it that way... they could just sell it via one of the non OPC franchises in the Inchcape group, a bit like Sytner have Ridgeway Select for selling nice, but non-franchise standard cars for whatever reason. Bought a lovely but high miles A5 that way.

Hi Robertb I am looking at a Boxster at Sytner Select in Bristol at the weekend that's not listed as an Approved Porsche and its made totally clear that its not an Approved car for the onset ,Porsche Bournemouth are clueless :dont know:
