Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and haven't pasted yet but I've been reading a few threads and was just looking for some advice. My dad is looking for a 911, he currently has a '77 Triumph stag, and has seen a couple he likes. He doesn't have a huge budget, looking around £30,000 tops but it seems easy to get confused with so many variants out there.

He's found an '81 SC Targa:
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/porsche/911-pre-89/porsche-911-sc/5094527?v=b

and a '75 S Targa:
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/porsche/911-pre-89/porsche-911s-targa-1975/5164294?v=b

We have a rough idea of the differences and appeals of both but we would greatly appreciate and advice or recommendations any one has on here, I'm positive you all know a lot more than us haha,
thanks again,
Alex

I'd go for the Raby car. The other 'company' I'm not yet convinced as I get the impression they are into importing and capitalising on a buoyant market Dont know

Raby (and for some reason if you add his first name with the surname on here you get ***** ) knows his onions and doubt he would offer to buy/sell a lemon. JZM provenance albit 10yrs ago adds to the package and I like the tartan Thumb

yeah he had been leaning more to the Raby one, he had a white 911 like it back in the 70/80's so it brings back some memories, it's just so far away lol
thanks for your reply Very Happy
