Is the new RS quick enough??

Quick enough for what? It beat all the other cars in their test other than the Turbo S and the hyper cars. Pretty good I'd say.

Also remember it's about fun when you actually buy one. 'Fastest' is about bragging rights.

I don't know, perhaps we've reached the limit of what's possible with current technologies and tyres.. The hyper cars are only a second or so quicker??

I understand that this circuit they're using is a tight and twisty type. The really fast cars (918 P1 etc) can't get the speed down. Do the test at Monza and the results would look very different I think.

Isn't the 918 4wd?

on a longer track with more wide open bends it would be quicker than the turbo S. still a very quick car considering its giving up loads of traction and torque to the Turbo S. tyres won't make a huge difference on a little track like that.

its cheaper than the specced up turbo S so wins for me ;-)

more of a challenge to drive too.

...I wish it was

For those of us unable to get a new one, it's going to be c£280k or something like that.

A 12/18 month old TurboS is looking like a bargain relatively. One of these with carbon buckets would be nice. Wonder what a turboS would be like on cup2's..??? :?:

Why do they bother putting the price in road tests of cars that you can't actually buy?

eg. Price for a 991 GT3RS = £131,296 :floor:

There's an 'ordinary' 991 GT3 for sale at OPC Tonbridge for £149,995 and no, it's not new.

Are GT3s selling at those prices though? There's two at Wilmslow and one has been there for 6 months priced the same.

..You've got to giggle really...£149,995 !..I would though, very much doubt
whether anyone ordered and specced up a basic RS straight out of the box.
I think that even with a few toys it's £145k+...I know that mine was a bit
more than that.
Heaven knows what the values of these cars will be on the s/hand market...
I genuinely thought they'd make £200k, seems like i was a bit off with that.
But the OP's question...'is it quick enough ?'.I would think so, but there are
'Faster' cars out there. The Huracan, old 458, let alone the new 488 are all
quicker in a straight line....

I'm very much looking forward to actually getting into one at the end of next
week, as it'll be experience day time !.

Very different cars...

I would take a 997.2 GT3 RS over both of them.

I'll take a punt that when I finally get into mine, I'll be confirming
your view too.

Are you keeping the 997.2?

That's the plan. I'll have both of them, then most likely I'll make a decision
on whether to keep one or both of them a few months into 991 RS ownership.
Most likely it will be subject to how well my business is going.
