Insurance - Porsche approved repairer

Time for Insurance renewal. I phoned a couple of companies but they said they would use Porsche parts but the repairer would be one of their own repairers and if I want a porsche approved repairer I would need to pay the difference.

Any suggestion for an Insurance company who uses porsche approved repairer please?

Many thanks

speak to a specialist broker. You will not find your type of policy on any comparison sites.

You know it will cost you more because using anyone such as Road and Race or Lloyds will be around 30% or more dearer than using a non Porsche approved repairer. (Before any clever clog comes on and says Lloyds aren't Porsche approved, YES I know, Porsche reduced the number of approved repairer but it was nothing to do with the quality of work - they just wanted a bigger monopoly through fewer outlets to justify the expense of becoming Porsche approved).

Having recently gone through a large claim with my Insurance company, they (Bell which are owned by Admiral) was going to send the car to their own approved repaireres, however before the car got there I rang them and aksed if I could send my car to OPC Cambridge as I did not want it repaired by a non porsche specialist, they agreed with me and gave me permission have car transported to OPC instead of the place they recommended, the only loss on my part was that because I was using my own choice of repairer I would lose the option to have a hire car whilst it was being repaired..(OPC offered me a loan car if they got the job)

In the end the car was written off, and maybe it would not have not been scrapped had it been sent to non-porsche specialist !! have to admit happy it was written off ....

Have to give credit where its due, Bell Insureres settled within 3 weeks and OPC dealt with them very efficiently ...

Interesting to know about Admiral as it was one of the company who said to me, I would need to pay the difference between the cost of porsche approved repairer vs their own!

Was just looking at Bell's website. Do they only do telematic Insurance Insurance? You don't want a black box on your 911 do you?

Just reveived my renewal for April, no mention of any telematic black box requirment !
