Actually the vast majority were sold when the 918 orders were taken, as
these customers (as part of the Porsche 'VIP Programme),are taking up the
option for a guaranteed RS build slot.
At the moment, what is left over is then allocated to those who beg or
blackmail the OPC's into... Cool

Perhaps this will change a bit later...as the demand is absolutely incredible.

I'm very envious of your fortunate position Mr. Green

I would love one and would quite happily pay list given the opportunity but in reality this won't happen. The feeding frenzy brought about by speculators and extremely low volumes serves no one - mass produce the beggars and those that will appreciate the true value of the car will care nothing for how many others are made - IMO the future (or immediate Rolling Eyes) resale value of a car like this should be the very last consideration of a potential buyer...

Well there are a good few of us on here who take the view that 'you're a long
time dead'....I got rid of all my debt middle of last year, so yeah, I know that
I'm fortunate to be able to do it.

..Life's too short, had to be done. Cool

Awesome car, at a bargain of a price given the alternatives and how they stack up price-wise. Vantage GT3 anyone..??, oh, hold on, they only made about 3 of them and they're all sold to middle-east oil barons. What else can you get with this level of performance, history, design integrity, for anywhere near this price?

Speaking of which, it seems strange that it could be possible to get out of a 997.2 GT3 RS and into one of these and have enough change for a new Golf.. eh! (if you're lucky enough to be on the list)

Kinda wish I hadn't given up my place on the GT4 list now.....

Happy days if you made the cut - I just hope their vetting process was/is robust enough to ensure enthusiasts like Nick W get the nod over the speculating chancers looking to turn a quick profit.

I had an interesting conversation with one of the sales guys while having my fez fettled and he told me that any dealerships that sell an 'exclusive' car that is subsequently flipped gets a right kicking from up high, including fines and loss of access to future exclusives. Ditto the flipper who will be blacklisted from future purchases...though we all know that money talks... Rolling Eyes

Very Happy

Yes mate. We made the move to be nearer family just before Christmas. South East wasn't going to work out for us long term for various reasons so we headed north. Extra car is a result of no longer having a mortgage, picking it up next week Smile

I'll still be heading to all the usual events, will just be at less of the Fairmile type things thumbsup

I hope OPC's have the same issue. Porsche want these cars to be used as designed, not stuck under a dust sheet in a collection. Well I hope thats the case anyway..!

All good stuff, amusing to think that we collared him at Goodwood 2013,
he mentioned to us then, 4.0L, PDK and 520 bhp, and he hints at that kind
of output here. Cool

I love that Evo video, gives a really good summary of the car. The grip levels sound totally out of this world. The 991 GT3 was a game changer, this will be a bigger step forward. totally totally bonkers.

Agree with Cunno on the pricing though. I cannot understand why Porsche didn't sell this at £180. It would still be sold out before launch, and would hopefully cut down on the speculators a little.

Fantastic car - Do Porsche still lose money building these like they used to?? ie - the GT2/3 and GT2/3 RS are partly about building halo products for the entire range..

Agreed, although Porsche will be very aware of what these cars could have fetched in the UK, this 'value' price is all part of the plan I reckon to make it look even better against the rivals - the extra profit from the sale of so few cars wouldn't even register on Porsche's books.
