The BMW M3 coupe has morphed into the new M4, and with its closest rivals from Audi and Mercedes now very long in the tooth, we went seeking a rival from further up the food chain. Can the M4 do itself proud on Anglesey circuit against a proper sports car, the Porsche 911 [991] 3.6 Carrera?
With 425 bhp from turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six cylinder engine, the BMW M4 is sensibly more powerful than the standard Porsche 911 Carrera, which is powered by a 345bhp 3.6-litre naturally aspirated flat six engine.
Professional racing driver Marino Franchitti assessing them both.
