911uk are happy to recommend the PAINTSHIELD ™ Paint Protection Film for all your car. Please feel free to post Testimonials about your Paintshield experiences on this thread.

Introducing Paintshield Protection Film

Stone Chips?
  • The Solution is clear
  • Eliminate stone chips and minor scuffing damage
  • Clear paint and headlight protection film
  • Improve resale values
  • Computer designed (No cutting on the car)
  • 4 Year Paint protection warranty
  • No Differential Paint Fading
  • Certified installers to ensure quality workmanship
  • Extensive database of shapes
  • Requires no special maintenance
  • Car wash friendly
  • Topcoat means no penetration of road grime or tar and rubber compounds.
  • X-Pel™ from Paintshield "cosmetic insurance for your car"

Paintshield Ltd are proud to offer the X-Pel™ range of products to the European Marketplace. Our centre of operations is based in Eastern England where we are well placed for the shipping of product and the provision of support services to our clients.

We offer our own four year warranty on the kits we supply, and unlike many of our counterparts, offer Vehicle light protection in a specially produced optically clear heavy duty film. We believe that due to the laws of physics, the regular paint protection film is not adequate for the purposes of protecting Headlights (and fog lamps) from the risk of stone damage.

2003 Porsche 996 GT3 Mk2

So I'll be 1st and post a testimonial.

Having had Armourfend on my old 993 back in 2004, such a product is a must on any front bumper on any 911 to avoid stone chips, but I wanted a Product with more than a 1 year guarantee, so the 4 year / 48,000 mile guarantee from Paintsheild was exactly what I was after.

I had the full front kit originally installed in Oct 2006 on my GT3, which was the front bumper, both front wings, bonnet, I also had the side sills and the rear arch done.

Due to all the track work the car is driven on, film protection is a must.

Installation was done at the Paintshield Towers in Grantham in Linconshire, 2 hours up the A1 from my base SW of London. The Paintshield facilities are excellent for waiting customers.

Product and installation was excellent, after a year and several track days, trips across to the Nurburgring in german including a 175mph+ blast on the autobahns, not a single stone chip, car still looked like new!

Removed Clean Off !
A year later I wanted to get the front of the car paint corrected and I did have to get the front bumper resprayed and the original respray a year ago wasn't 100% i.e. had pain creases! Note, you need at least 7 days after a respray for the paint to full cure before applying paintshield.

So I went up to Paintsheild to get it all removed, which Tom did (highly trained) in all of about 5 minutes, with it coming clean off with no glue or any residue left on the paintwork at all.

The Paintshield was recently reapplied and due to advancing in technology, where larger patterns are now available, the film protection was rolled around the bonnet and sections of the front wing. So the previous point of having the edges visible is not longer an issue.
I will post pictures of this.

As an owner of a Tracked 911, Paintsheild is highly recommended.

This is like a group therapy session for PA... Paintshield Anonymous... Laughing

Hi, my name is Ade, and my car is called the PolarExpress. Almost 2 years ago, I had the entire front end Paintshielded: bumper, bonnet, wings... all the way back to the A-pillar. 25k miles later, I had the bonnet film replaced for a new design, and the old film was removed in about 90 seconds. Despite the mileage covered and occasional time another car bumper parked against the PolarExpress Mad, the paint underneath was flawless and stone chip free! 25k miles and not a stone chip  Razz

After nearly 2 years, the film was still crystal clear and still glossy despite 100's of cycles of washing/drying/waxing. The film waxes well, water beads well, and it just makes the car dead easy to keep looking good. Minor scratches can be magically removed using isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, and the film even responds to Meguairs ScratchX well.

I had to claim once against the Paintshield warranty, and Paintshield honoured it with no quibbles. Tom, Joe, and Anne provide a 1st class service for a 1st class product.

Very Happy

HI Guys thanks for the comments especially about the edge wraps I am still getting beat up on this issue in another place Smile Which is becoming a pain, especially as it has been well known for a while now we can do this.

I need to be clear for everyone on edge wrapping YOU HAVE TO REQUEST the service, there will be a small price lift and the time allowed will increase. We absolutely prefer to limit wrapping to those panel edges that can be accessed WITHOUT dissasembly!! 3 manufacturewrs have now seperately confirmed they will bin warranties if we do this. Also ensuring appropriate panel alignments etc and the risk of rattles electrical issues and so on as well as the significant cost uplift, renders the wrapping of EVERY panel edge uneconomic IMHO, also consider the timings etc involved in any collission replacement that god forbid may be required.

So to restate if anyone wants accessable edges wrapped you only have to ask Smile

Cheers

Tom

Had the following over the last couple of years;-

997 C2S - Full Front

997 GT3RS - Full Front, being fitted as I write this post!

Highly recommended if you want to avoid wrecked paintwork!

What are the approximate costs including edge wrap and not? Also how does the wrap impact the appearance of the paint? Am about to spend spend on a full bare metal respray and don't want to lose the quality of the paint job.

Thanks
