Hi All

Im looking at purchasing a 1980 911 sc coupe that is advertised as totally original but my porsche owner friend is suspicious of the electric seats.. would any of you be able to tell me if they were an option for this car..

The car is 34 years old... When cars get to that age they tend to be like Grandpa's axe. Grandpa's axe is totally original but has had three handles and four blades.

Have a look on the internet and the specialist magazines for a buyers guide. The things that are going to cost money are tyres (if over 5 years old need replacing) suspension, gearbox, clutch, engine life (dependent on mileage) and rust (windows, sills, etc - look at the guide).

You can do a lot of the homework yourself before paying someone to look at it.
 
Those seats are not period. The 1980 car will have the 'tombstone' shape to the back rest.

They could be 964/944 seats. Not a drama getting period ones as they don't fetch much on the bay whereas those non sport type in good condition will realise £500+
