Hi all, I am new here so just popped in to say Hi. I have a 1969 911 LHD I brought back to the UK with me when I returned from the states a few years ago. The car is very sound but on the last MOT there was a warning about steering bushes and a few mechanical things like that.

Does anyone know of a mechanic in the Aberdeen area sympathetic to classic Porsches ?

Thanks

Rich

That is a lovely colour and cracking car, whats with the additional indicator in the front wing ? cant help with a mechanic in your area sure someone will chime in.

The thing on the wing is a reflector - yellow front & red on the rear. US regs. Unfortunately there are holes drilled through the wing to fix them - on the rear as well. The car was originally yellow but was that colour when I bought it. Yes, a lovely colour but non-standard. Luckily I have a litre of paint that came with the car.

cheers

Rich,

I would put a post up on DDk-online pretty sure someone there will point you in the direction of a spanner man for early cars.

Aberdeen is a bit sparse of Indy's but 25 miles west of Aberdeen is Dinnet Garage which is owned by Scott McHardy and recently took on the chief service manager from Porsche Aberdeen and they make a very good team. They advertise themselves as Porsche and VW specialists and I recommend them. They have done work on my 993 and I have no complaints.
Scott's telephone number is 01339 880538.

There is an Indy in Aberdeen called Bavaria Auto but I have not tried them. Went to them but did a U turn after seeing the state of the reception area / workshops. Not heard anything bad about them tho' - or good.

Hope this helps.
