Ok just spent the day with Chris franklin getting the geo done on the 64 & I'm well happy as the 64 now drives 100% better like night and day, I had bump steer on the front from rs height -14 mm...oops & real heavy steering from to much camber on the front & missing washers on the new top mounts!! I found it real twitchy at high speed to so Chris drove it first to see what the car was doing and then spent the whole day sorting it all out..I wanted it set up for road not track as I'm prob only going to go one or to times a year so a fast road set up is what I went for..rs height +10 & even on the way home in the pissing rain and wind it felt supa stable & has transformed the car!!

Thank you Chris franklin

He's a few specs....make of it what you will.
Full monty inc corner balance.

Cracking result and about time too.
I feel mine may take a trip there when I get the KW's

What is your wheelarch heights front and rear Mark I know you say RS+10 but what is that in simple terms, I am going to dig out my geo chart from earlier this year to see what the comparisons are. Did he do any fiddling with your corner weights ?

I will measure it for you & post...

He did the corner weights a couple of times and a geo and more bits & bobs & i was there from 9 till 6 all day...but he's very OCD in a good way :thumb:

Very interesting thanks for posting - what size wheels are you running, 17"?

Look forward to hearing the ride height front and rear.

TJ

-14mm  I am surprised you could drive it! Looks like a real nice set up now, so it will feel planted and secure.
Btw it is really not worth measuring wheel arch gaps, these cars were hand built and the panels fits vary hugely, even on the same car opposite sides can have big differences. There is only one way to measure the height and that is using the points underneath on the suspension. Enjoy your new car!

I thought someone would say you cant measure the wheel arches :hand: however i`m only looking for a rough idea of stance .in regards the corner weighting how close are they meant to be side to side ?

When setting up corner weights the idea is to make each diagonal the same, you can't change any other balance without actually moving stuff. If you look on the photo you will see that the selected diagonal is 49.9% of the total weight.

Here you go Gaz...
26" front
25" rear
:thumb:

Or the way Porsche like it done
front axel points on before starting 110mm
After 132mm

Forgot the rear :?

Cheers for that not all that helpfull at the moment since I have no front wings and its up on axle stands at the back at the moment :D however a good reference when it goes back together

Spent the afternoon fiddling with the rear suspension as it was rubbing slightly on both arches and the oil pipe after the run to Beamish and fitting the 18" wheels , so now sitting at 26" at the front and 25.5 at the back which means I can now get my fingers between the tyre and arch, the new suspension has less than 1000 miles on it so will run this for a while to let it all settle, then take it to the experts in the spring.

Mark, great to meet you and you're son at Gaydon. I thought that you're car was about spot on, now with Chris' wizardry you've just raised the bar :thumb: :frustrated: more on the catch up list.....

You to chief, sorry I had to rush off to the track thing they had for a £10 & it was like a Porsche M25 at times and you had to stick to 70 mph :cop:...Jamie liked it though so glad we went round and looked out for you after the track/ museum for more car talk but you must have left.... Had it done in January so been enjoying it all summer :thumb:

Tried to find zingers aswell as I think that silver jube was his?..I've heard he looks like brad Pitt :D

:hand: Fuch, I see myself more as a Brett Sinclair on a good day (and Albert Steptoe on my days off :thumb: )

Saw your car at Gaydon :worship: Simply outstanding - great paint job and interior. I'm going to contact Ed this week to get my coloured tacho dial (with a few added adornments)
