The split rims are not standard. The SC did not came off the factory in wide body unless it came via the special wishes department. In the majority of the cases, this will be an aftermarket "turbo look".

With a bit of luck, you have steel front wings and rear wing extensions; otherwise it might be GRP bonded onto the wings.

Early 3.3 turbo's ran 7 and 8 x 16 fuchs wheels; from sep 1985 onwards the rear fuchs of the turbo and the then factory Carrera 3.2 Turbo look (thats a non uk designation, with Porsche Cars GB it was marketed as a Super Sports Equipment, or SSE) ran 9 x 16 fuch wheels on the rear.

If you have split rim fuchs-a likes, they might have been produced by Dage Sports, an important tuner in the UK, which later became G Force.

They ran blue "coral" 935 and GT1 Porsches in major events.

My mechanic, Mike Bainbridge,

and indeed his younger brother Neil of BS Motorsport

might recall the car.

Mike build John Greasley's white 935- it was the fastest cars for years and years as tested by motor magazine.

HTH,

Bert
