Hi Guys

Just bought a new 991 and the OPC are wanting me to purchase the Supaguard protection for £300.

Just wanted to know your thoughts, and if it is worth it?

Also, is £300 a fair price?

Cheers

Chris

It's worth £30 (sells on ebay for that), doesnt last on the outside, better to get a proper detail from

I'd have to strongly disagree with you on that point, I had the Gardex OPC treatment applied to my car prior to delivery and it's still as good as it was when new, however, the only downside is it's harder to clean it properly because of the film.

I'd have it applied again on my next car.

Go for it OP :thumb:

x2 its nothing that a good wax won't acheive

It's rubbish - anyone in the trade knows it. It's only function is to earn profit for the dealership and commission for the salesman. For the money they charge why not get it prepared properly by a reputable detailer? Most offer new car packages which will be far more effective.

I would have thought Tony a feather duster would have cleaned your's ok Tony? I think it has to come out of the garage to actually need anything more?

total waste of money
it costs about £40 and 4 minutes to apply and they charge you £300 for it.
either get a proper detail, or buy it and then diy

It had been applied to an Audi we bought a few years ago. Truly hopeless.
Can't beat proper wax.

Well 2828 miles since March 1st  :D and my Fiesta runabout has only covered 4100 since March 10th.

I think not using the car everyday makes it more special when you take it out.

Also I am retired and I don't go out every day :) and also don't use the performance

Poo!!.....spend the money on something nice for the 991 that lasts. :thumb:

Waste of money.

And I don't approach this from the point of view of how it performs: it is very good and I have several packs of it.

But I have them free.

The waste of money is the mark up from the cost (including application labour) or £75.

I know as I sold it and got paid on that mark up.

The actual pack (and I mean the full application and after care pack) is worth about £30.

If you want to spend £300-500, get a proper detail with paint correction and sealing.

I would advocate £500 with Elite Detailing for a car that looks better than new.
