Replacement 1998cc 8v engine supplied by Grant Motorsport (Bristol). Fitted as side project at Mark Tempest Autocentre, Welwyn Garden City. Engine comprised modified 2litre block with VW 2E head. (127593 miles)
Significantly more powerful than any standard 8v and drives very well. Built with lots of torque and low down power in mind.
Replacement Performance Clutch.
New Clutch Cable.
Short Shift Mechanism and weighted rod.
All metal brake pipes replaced.
Brake hoses replaced with Goodridge braided items.
Front wishbones replaced.
Full poly bush kit to front and rear. New rear axle bushes.
Drop links and top mounts replaced. G60 fronts used.
Vented discs and uprated brake pads.
Weitec Hicon GT Coilovers.
Everything else was stripped down and/or checked.
Stainless Steel 2 box custom made exhaust system fitted.
Service Items:
Cambelt replaced 137k.
Pads, wheel bearings replaced (143828 miles).
Head gasket and skimmed head (146954 miles).
N/S/F Wheel bearing (154132 miles).
Temp sender/Power Steering Reservoir (153631 miles).
Front Tyres - Toyo T1-R's 195/45 15 replaced (150k miles approx.).
Rear Tyres - Toyo T1-R's 195/45 15 replaced (147k miles approx.).
Bosch Silver 60Ah Battery (150k miles approx.).
Cam cover/Gasket/Camshaft Pulley seal (140276 miles).
Heater control cables/Dash light bulbs (137381 miles).
Issues:
Paintwork to roof could do with a little attention and machine polish
Front fogs.
Dashboard water temp warning light intermittent flash (all other instrumentation fully functional). this is very common with MK1 and MK2 golfs, the car dose not over heat! the needle works fine.
Wheels/Tyres:
BBS RM originally 7"x15" ET38.
Rebuilt with 1.5" Stainless Dishes to make them 8.5"x15".
Powercoated metal parts of centres and BBS Japan Red Caps.
Fitted with Toyo T1-R 195/45/15 all round.

Huge amount of paperwork. Every receipt since I have owned. A full stamped service book since new. Every MOT certificate.
He paid 4500, last summer, and now will except £3600, its currently on a SORN, and has 10months MOT. I'm told the rims are worth 2k alone
