60th Anniversary 911 430hp, 0-60 4.0secs + ducktail spoiler

Is the Powerkit at £10,000 a waste of money !!

Compared to a standard 991 S

Top speed increases by less than 1 mph.
O-60 only 0.1 second quicker.

Its in the mid range that the powerkit excels. After 60mph it really starts to make a difference up to the max.

IMO that ducktail on the 991 is just so wrong.

Still +30 BHP and free PSE

By mapping a 997.2 Turbo how much would it cost to gain an extra 30 BHP £300 ?

more so the torque and the 0-100mph, as the 0-60 becomes a little meaningless since almost everything quick nowadays is sub 5 secs

still as much power as Gen 1 997 GT3 :eh!:

Say £600 for a reputable map.

But that is not what X51 is (for that matter, it is not what X50 is either).

GT4 is correct, getting extra BHP out of naturally aspirated engines is not a simple task

Even getting Manthey Motors to engineer an extra 30-40bhp out of 996/997 GT1 engine blocks costs £8k, whereas a dab of extra boost and ECU tuning is enough to allow much more BHP to be released out of a Turbo charged engine

991 X51 PowerKit
Output upgrade for 3.8S normally aspirated MA1.01 to 316 kW (430 hp).

PowerKit includes:

Modified cylinder heads
New camshafts
Newly developed variable resonance intake manifold with six plus one switchable valves (VARIORAM 991)
Central third radiator (non-PDK vehicles)
PSE Sports exhaust system (XSF) with specially designed twin dual-tube tailpipes (M176)
Sport Chrono package (M639/M640)
Dynamic Engine Mounts (M140)
New DME maps (performance optimised engine electronics)
Painted engine cover ("Titanium" silver) with carbon fibre emblem cosmetics

Circa £13,420 (but includes XSF, M140, M176, M639, M640 cost options)

Just makes you wonder how much the good stuff is going to be, turbo, gt3 and gt3 rs
