OPC: Is this normal?

my local tyre place charges me £10 a corner including valves and balancing.

ETA in my post above that I meant OPC prices - most local garages do charge around £10 per corner, but I've had alloys damaged in the past by the local monkeys - I now get my tyres changed at OPC only

There really is no need to pay OPC prices or go to the trouble of getting to one if it's out of your way, just find a good independent tyre specialist with the correct kit and you will be more than fine.

Well, I decided to roll the dice and switch back to summer tyres a little earlier than most, but the weather is already very mild and the return of snow seems unlikely...

For a simple swap of 4 wheels (and a nice cup of coffee) I'm now €120 lighter, but that does include storage of my winter wheels and the reassurance that the centrelocks were removed and replaced correctly!

They left the door looking very grubby with handprints, but overall I thought they did an ok job :thumb:

They seem to have let a school boy out of class early to take a look over a 997 Turbo

126Euro for 2 tyres to be changed is v expensive but thats probably 30 minutes work plus their facilities. I doubt they specifically employ low paid tyre fitters.

120Euro for all 4 to be changed with centrelocks is reasonable given their aren't many places that have the tools or the grease for those!

Trouble with any tyre fitter if you are supplying your own tyres....for £10 its a massive risk for little reward.

This is the same boy that carried out my service and tyre change. On the bright side; he is the only person on the planet with wrists small enough to dig out leaves from the front bumper without the use of the karscher vacuum cleaner. This saves at least 2 minutes
