The manual describes how to operate the swivelling mirror as a parking aid on page 170. However, it does not mention that the memory seat option must be fitted for it to work Naughty Porsche!

Car manuals detail every single function whether you have it or not. You don't have the car manual at point of purchase, you work off the detailed specs.

OTOH, the 997 manual does say as a "Precondition" for this feature that the car must be equipped with the seat memory option.

If you buy a car and read the manual, you expect it to be correct. They only had to add "only available on cars with memory seats" it would have been correct. What's the point of a manual if every time you read it you are not sure if it is correct?

I thought a generic caveat in all manuals was that the following instructions cover every model/specification, but the instructions only apply if the vehicle is fitted with the relevant cost option or the regional legislation requires its fitment.

(they go further of course, to say correct at time of going to print, yada yada, changes may occur without notice etc).

I'm guessing the manual covers auto (PDK) and manual transmissions (without repeated warnings on every page whether the description applies to one or other or both)?
