PostPosted: Thu Aug 18, 2011 8:44 pm    Post subject: New 2014 991 GT3 Spy Shots Rendering! Updated... Reply with quote

With the first images of the new Porsche 911 leaked onto the net, rose the question: how would the 30 different variations look ?

So let's start with the more hardcore variant of the GT3, the track-oriented 911-toy with a Triple A rating.

The old 997 GT3 had access to 435 horsepower, and as the Carrera S is a step up from 385 to 400 horsepower, it is expected that in the GT3 somewhere between 450 and 460 horsepower.

However, there are rumours that speak of a 4.0-litre engine with 480 horsepower, coupled to a PDK gearbox. We will see what transpires, but here are two impressions with our outlook on the upcoming hardcore Fairy.

A 4 litre engine with direct injection will make this car go faster than the current 3.8l RS. Whether it sounds as good with the previous motorsport engine is another matter!

Hope the gearing tailor for the road rather than the 'Ring'!

Yuk.....! er, no...we'll no doubt see pictures of the forthcoming GT3 in about a year,
and the RS version will be at least six months after that.

I was at a customer with a 996 GT3RS and a 997GTRS Gen 2 today and have to say the 997 is a much more beautiful piece of kit in comparison to the 996. I particularly love the extra wide arches.... it just sits so well.

I hope that the 991 GT3RS has similarly extra wide arches. Excellent effort on that rendering however I think the arches need to go wider.

FWIW I think the current 4.0 looks a bit too boy racer with the contrasting winglets and details everywhere. Dont know
