2003 2.7 boxster engine replacmeant

Hi all iam in need of some advice . a friend of mine has bought a 2003 2.7 boxster with the timeing chain in the sump and has bought a replacemeant engine and fitted it but it doesnt start. i had a look andit sems to have a diferent cam sensor set up . the old engine had sensors on both banks and the new one has only one .the engine suplier said this was ok as there was a ecu that would work with this and it was fitted but still no go . has any one been here before if so can you help me
