Really? Not sure I like this idea. :dont know: But alas we'll all have to just wait and see. :)
 
Thanks for posting that. :thumb: It's a bit contradictive to what this week's AutoCar magazine says but I guess it's all speculation at the moment.

The 997 was a very deep facelift of the 996.

Many parts (including whole engines blocks) were carry-overs, admittedly with new engineering or performance/economy tweaks (not pretending nothing was done in development during the reign of the 996).

However, many changes were actually less involved than the changes from 996.1 to 996.2 (which included engines, chassis, body structure).

The hard points are all shared, hence the ease of 996 to 997 conversion kits.

The glasshouse is identical.
