they say

The first diesel promises improved economy and lower emissions, but it's still a Porsche at heart.

we say

At a basic £39,404 exc options, best buy a used Cayenne S and put the savings towards petrol and crisps and if you have any cash spare those XL packets of tic tacs

Here's the official release.....

A 2,967cc, V6 turbodiesel engine shared with the mechanically similar Audi Q7 and Volkswagen Touareg is Porsche's way of answering criticism of its hitherto petrol-powered range, and particularly the aggressive Cayenne SUV.

It develops 236bhp from 4,000 to 4,400rpm, more importantly there's 406lb ft of torque from 2,000-2,250rpm to provide the sort of urge expected of the marque. Like its petrol sisters, the Cayenne Diesel is four-wheel drive, via a standard six-speed Tiptronic S transmission.

The top speed is 133mph, with 0-62mph in 8.3sec. Its official EU Urban fuel consumption is 24.4mpg (30.4mpg Combined), with CO2 emissions of 244g/km.

Engine noise, the perennial bugbear of diesel-powered vehicles, has been tackled by the fitment of an acoustic windscreen. At 70mph, the engine is turning at only 2,100rpm, ensuring quiet cruising.

As ever with Porsche, there's an array of expensive options, including Porsche's excellent Active Suspension Management (PASM) at £1,931.

Is this one of those "expensive options"?

she doesn't look too pleased with it, and's got her foot caught to boot.....

If the car comes with the extras shown in the picture as standard then I am interested in it....If not then no point :redangel:

Stunning.....natural, classic Germanic style and poise...looks fresh, confident and sure-footed.

.....unless she's had surgery of course.

Seriously, do you think the photos of a white car are trying to say they are whiter than white and diesels are clean? What happened to the good old PR "air coming from the exhaust is cleaner than the air going in?" they used to peddle. They should stick to being a Hedge Fund, all their good work was done years ago, they should just sit back and enjoy the big profits from selling overpriced spare parts. :hand:

Isn't that the girl who made a whistling sound in Lloyd six's 996 when he went at speed?
