Fuel Cap cover won't stay open...

Went to fill up the other night and noticed the fuel filler cap cover will not stay open. It looks like the galvanised clip isn't seating correctly, so whils filling I applied a little pressure and the glav. clip/spring seemed to go back into position. However it's slipped out again.

Anyone else come across this issue? It's a pain holding the fuel nozzle, cap and the flap whilst filling up...
 
Had the same problem on my 997,, could not get the clip to sit properly again, (kept slipping off) popped into OPC and they did it some how...
 
That's good then as it may mean I don't have to buy the hinge as I might be able to repair it...just wish my shoulder wasn't kapput...
