Hi guys,

Do any modifications need to be made to fit the 18" 2/3 piece speedlines to a C2 with most probably lowering springs and Bilstein shocks?

Will the arches need to be rolled?

Are 17's a better bet? do the split rim Speedlines come in 17"?

Views much appreciated people...

I would imagine that you might need to have the arches rolled like the RS. I think I am right in saying that they had to do this to fit the 17" tyres on it. Some people do run 18" Speedlines on their RS's, and the RS is a lot lower than a standard Carrera.

It would probably be worth having a word with a specialist such as Colin Belton at Ninemeister.

There's no need to roll the arches for either but you need a flattened oil line in the right rear arch. Most have this by now but it is best to check - looks like a squashed metal oil line.

Arches only need to be rolled when fitting wider wheels that will often also require spacers fitting to prevent rub.

18" wheels were never approved by Porsche for the C2/C4. Only RS models left the factory with them. I believe some mods are required to fit 18" on a C2/C4 to prevent them putting undue strain on the chassis and to prevent excessive wheel rub.

Ok, thanks guys.

I assumed that you would have to roll the arches to. Why are the RS's arches rolled in comparison to the C2/C4? Is it because of wider wheels?

Are they're any links to buy speedlines online that you gys know of?

Jus trying to tally up everything before taking the plunge into buying the car!

Much appreciated,

Taz

According to 911&PW, the RS wings were rolled because of the lowering of the car. That was 40 mm on the lightweight which runs 17" rims.
