The PolarExpress was being carefully put back together again today. The engine was stripped apart for a proper health check by Andy-the-engine-guru. A couple months back, she was on a dynorun, and she was found to be slightly down on power at the time with a noticeable dip around 5.5k rpm. The Varioram was found to be slightly sticky, and with the engine on the bench, the cam timing was also found to be very slightly out causing the dip in power. Well this was also reset to the precise factory settings.
after 39k miles, still Motorsport shiny!
Everything was checked over, and the cylinder compression results proved to be fully within original factory tolerances - c.6% on all cylinders, even after 39k miles. Whilst out, anything that needed checking was refreshed. A new LWFW, clutch and a new Manthey K400 was put back on. Here is Manthey GT3 power in her shining glory...
Manthey power!
The new LWFW:
Watch this space over the next couple of days... more photos to come of the new aero kit et al...
Migration info. Legacy thread was 142755
