Buying a porsche 996 at an early age

Insurance cos will mirror your no claims bonus on the second car

i.e. you have a golf at the moment with max no claims, you buy a porsche as your weekend car to use the golf to go to work in,

they will give you the same no claims on the porsche as the golf rather than start from scratch

Norwich union are very good at this

BUT YOU WONT GET IT FROM A CALL CENTRE

You have to go through a broker

I have this ' problem' all the time, and its easily solved,

tis the way to go, though I would add my pachyderm Insurance outfit do it as well, so don't always need to go through brokers...

Because you can't afford fully comp like the chap who started this thread maybe?

Not sure where you get the £5k limit from either - it sounds like a limitation because of your age and policy.

My car is insured fully comp - thank you very much.

Most insurers will not insure a car TPF&F with a value of 5k+ .....

Simply not true.

I've got a very nice early 996 if of interest, supplied by me 18 months ago, just serviced and still under Porsche warranty

nice example that Mark has there.

A bit expensive for a T plate with low spec. Privately that's worth about £26k.

Unless it's concours then why pay £2k over the odds? I've turned down two mint OPC warrantied 2000 996s at £26k because the spec and colour wasn't right. I'm not going to buy a car just because it's been waxed with Zymol!
