It is a small fan that ducts warm air in to the cabin ,the bearings have gone , i got a second hand one from Porsche-a -part , cant remember how much , but it was reasonable price ,also a 993 one will fit but you have to swap the outer case

The blower in my old SC started making a "funny" noise right before it went BANG one morning, filling the cabin with an electrical burning smell. Scared the hell out of me, I'd get it replaced now Smile
