Hi.

Anyone had experience of any of the after market exhausts such as:-
Techart
Fabspeed
Haywood & Scott
any others.. ??

Withe the £-$ rate at present the Fabspeed complete package looks good value £2000K the lot, (Headers, Sport Cats & Exhaust/Mufflers) what's the issues imorting Tax & VAT ?...

YEP 3.4... I have the fabspeed cold Air kit and like the apparent quality.. I also hear there are companies that take an old exhaust for a template and MAKE a StSt 'sporty' copy version ??

Generally most suppliers in the USA use a courier or US Postal service, so ask for a quote to include shipping. A service with tracking is more expensive. Airfreight would be too expensive for a small shipment.

Obviously, you have to pay import duty, not sure of the rate offhand ( can find out) but for most private imports the duty is much less than VAT rate and of course individuals cannot reclaim it. Please note VAT is on the total landed price, not just the goods. a business can reclaim the VAT in their returns.

I know a lot of individuals ask for a lower value to be declared on imports ( illegal by the way) to save on VAT etc, but you might have problems in the event of an Insurance claim and not getting your money back or a replacement.

Take the value of the goods, add shipping then add VAt of 17.5 % and assume duty of 5% and you will have an idea. Be careful with couriers as they often add on a fee for fronting the VAt and duty for you.
