Indeed......... it was nearly written off this year at the 'Ring.

Having met up with him after the event, it was being rebuilt with bigger turbo's and bigger intercoolers - with ALOT of carbon fibre - even the wheels (FFS!!).

It was dyno'd pre conversion @620 bhp and holds the Bruntingthorpe VMAX record of 202mph (with more to come).

His datalogger records it accelerating faster mid range than a CGT !

Very nice - I always spend more time than I plan to on utube because all the other RUF videos come up when I went there and I end up seeing half a dozen!

2009 Porsche 997 GT2

PostPosted: Wed Nov 01, 2006 11:34 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

Just got back from Russian Far East and have been considering my Porsche options, especially after my [to me] disappointing test drive of 997TT 'ultimate hairdresser' last time I was home and have decided to go GT2.

I was invited up to the Porsche GB Center at Reading today to see the '02 GT2 that I have bought, going through the very thorough 111 points check - impressive set-up they have there.

In the parking lot at the back was the first RHD delivered GT3 in white. The sales guy said that after them not thinking that a 997 GT2 would be offered, he said that he had just heard it is definitely coming, so all he needed was a letter confirming interest and I'm on the list.

2009 Porsche 997 GT2

PostPosted: Thu Nov 02, 2006 2:20 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

Well, that's my budget, as I had already allowed 125k for the 997TT and if and when the 997 GT2 comes along then the hardest part will be persuading Mrs. Hog that I couldn't possibly part chop the 996 GT2 to a stealer as it is my daughters favourite. Wink

Cunning plan: Best dropped into conversation after Mrs. Hog has consumed large quantities of Sancerre or Pernod or BOTH! Twisted
