I just bought a 1985 911 Carrera 3.2 with a 915 gearbox. I've heard about some special oil which should ease and soften up the rather stiff movements of the box. Who can tell me about this oil?

certain oils claim a lot, but IMHO that's just marketing spin...

Porsche spec oil should be fine

a stiff gearbox is normally something else, more so the time it takes for temp to get into the system..... etc

Finn - the oil your looking for is called Swepco and many owners have stated that it helps loosen up the 915 g/box.

I would give it a try, but i would also get your mech to check your box/linkage as well, just to be sure all is well.
