Choosing a good interior package will help you sell it on and is worth the extra.

forget the heavy sunroof and heavy rear wiper

gain extra headroom and mroe performance from the weight saving

xenons are a must

Nice car, pretty much the options i would spec if lucky enough.
Although i'd prefer the 4S as i like my wide a$$es.

well done for going for those colours, 997's look great in blue.

I would get a sunroof, but depends what you are after, to me the weight loss would proabaly not be noticeable.

think xenons are standard now...? facelift will have LEDs...

Alistair,

I would get PASM and the sports chrono as well - its blinkin' ugly but makes quite a difference. I didn't notice it on my test drive when i ordered my car and thus didn't tick the box - next car will have it.

The rear wiper is ugly and not worth it - wouldn't take it even if it was free!

I personally like cruise control and would get that and I like the colour crests for the wheels.

My mate has cobalt blue (its not going to be an extra expensive colour next year) with black - looks nice but would look nice with natural grey (full leather) OR sand beige - the ocean blue doesn't quite cut it IMO.

coloured calipers on mine are mentioned by everyone, the extra leather bits inside make it feel very classy too, xenons are really good, sports exhaust ?

I think the Cobalt blue looks great and whatever options you finally settle I'm sure you will enjoy the car.

This is my option list, in no particular order, left off the PSE (a lot of cash for no performance gain IMO) and used the budget to fund adaptive sport seats, I also intended leaving off the Bose but succumbed at the last minute. Car arrives in August, a 2007 spec, and will be registered 1 Sep, only a few days away really but seems an age.

Sports chrono

GT Silver/Ocean Blue

Park assist

Auto dim mirrors

Classic wheels

Tyre pressure mon

Cruise control

Adaptive sports seats

Fire ext (legal req in some EU countries)

Sport shifter

Stainless steel tail pipes

Porsche crest in HR

Seat heating

Three spoke mf wheel

Sat nav

Telephone

Storage cover with Carrera logo

Bose sound

Sounds equally good - out of interest where is the storage cover for ?

Your'e right about the exhasust but the noise ?!

I couldn't bring myself to spend that on the seats.

Spent a weekend driving down to Lemans in a 997C2S with PSE,

and it is the only option I would defo have, it is fabulous, and it is how a sports car should sound, pure sex,

The sound is not in the same league without.

With the PASM, the exhaust is even better

This is the cover for the central/rear storage area, you can see a picture here:

I know I will probably regret dropping the PSE but it can be retrofitted whereas the seats would be much more expensive to change and by all accounts they are extremely comfortable. And now that I'm in my mid fifties I find that comfort trumps noise. Ideally I'd have all the options but the line has to be drawn somewhere and even then stretched a little for the Bose. Anyway it's too late to change now the car is in production.

what about a custom colour that you may have seen on another car manufacturer... ?

there are some amazing shades out there and your car would be unique...

personally a 2S over a 4S, no need for 4wd and the extra weight and complexity and you get a bit more storage space

snarf,

Have the PSE fitted, it is almost better than sex,

After 20 hours in it, it wasant a problem, and the sound was fab,

Honest,
