I have a Boxster S (new model) which has a load tapping noise when the car is cold, has anyone experienced this as well?

Welcome!

The noise may just be the hydraulic tappets getting pressure up, assuming the noise goes after a few seconds. Our Audi A8 does this.

If it persists all the time, get it back to the dealer...
