Hello Every one !

Tears are in my eyes as I will have to sell the toy in August.

Would you know how much price-hit I will take on it? The car is Nov 05, 6000 miles.

Tiptronic, fully loaded.

Thank you,

David

Sorry to hear this David. If 996s are anything to go by, they lose about £1,000 a month for the first couple of years.

Several on the market now with relatively low mileage asking just below £70K retail through dealers.

New ones available around £75K - £78K.

12 and 15% depreciation in the first year compounding to between 35% - 40% would seem quite good until one looks at how much that is in hard cash.

Why do we keep buying new cars?

My research indicates a 65% to 75% retention over three years with 36k miles on 996 models, so a rough guess would be that you take a 10% to 15% hit on base price and a little more on options.

Give me a shout when you plan to get rid as I nearly ordered a new Lexus IS220D Sport today to replace my CLK. What colour is it? I'm tempted.........

After 4.5 years and 29K miles mine cost me 49% of original price. I've hear dealers say tha you lose the VAT in the first year.
