That is one beautiful car you have William! How do you like the Tip? Is it your first Porsche? I have heard the tiptronic box has been improved quite a lot - I wasn't too keen on it on my 996 and got a manual box for my 997.
Yes love the tiptronic.Obviously you will never have quite the same element of control that you have with a manual but I have done that much stop/start motoring over the years that I have become lazy-when I drive a car with a manual box I am forever in the wrong gear and always drive round with my left foot resting on the clutch(probably slowly burning it out!!)Its less jerky than the BMW SMG system I had on an M3 and seems to change up and down pretty much when required.
Will - is it 5 or 6 speed the 997 tip? (the changes are pretty smooth in mine - will ask OPC to give me a try in the new one!)

Agree about Swiss, I've 'worked' with a few porn kings and the best were cheese graters!

It is a 5 speed in the 997 although most of the time once the engine has warmed up it starts off in 2nd gear so you could say only uses 4 gears.

Same as the 996 in that respect then - it rockets off the lights in 1st (not that I have tested it  )
