Sticking clutch pedal

Hi chaps,

Happy New Year to you all.

Need some advice with my clutch pedal please - it's a bit sticky! When I release the clutch the pedal stops about 1.5" before it's normal stop position. I have to pull it back up with the side of my shoe. Thing is it feels like the "slack" part of the travel of the pedal is the point where the pedal is stopping, ie. it's not sticking with the clutch partially disengaged. Does this make sense?

Is this a simple case of the pedal mech needing some lube, or more serious??

Cheers in advance!
