Hi all, I'm a new member to the chatroom - so please treat me gently.

I've just acquired a Lapis Blue 996 Turbo, which I am totally smitten with naturally. Had a basalt black 996 C2 prior to that but always yearned for the Turbo.

I'm interested in the X50 Power Upgrade - which appears to increase the BHP considerably. Can anyone recommend where to go for this and approx. how much it will cost? I'm in the Leicester area so somewhere fairly local would be great.

hello and welcome to 911 ownership

x50 is a factory upgrade, IIRC but as you have a turbo, there are a lot of specialist happy to upgrade the power of your turbo.....

2 options south is Weltmeister down at Silverstone or Amd down at Bicester, both recommended. or there is 9m up north, Cheshire way......

I would have a look at their website for more info....

Sundeep,

Thanks for replying to my quest for help re. the X50 power upgrade. I will check out the places you state.

Is that your 993 in the picture - and you at the helm?

NickM

There are much more cost-effective options, that will also give you considerably more power! I'd recommend looking at DMS.

DMS is another.....

be careful with the advice given, but the key with a turbo car (as an ex-turbo car owner) is to get more torque in a better spread, which makes a real world difference, rather than off the line. although with your 4wd 996 turbo, it's not like it is an issue !

set up is another consideration. otherwise it just depends on what you want to do with it.....

and yes, that is my at 'Bedford Autodrome' in my 'mere' 993 Targa.. a do a fair few trackdays a year and had my trip to the Nurburgring back in July
