on my 993 targa..(still on 17" rubber) about to replace the shocks (bilsten B6 or HD) springs (m030) uprated the anti-roll bars (993 turbo spec) but the question of what to do with he suspension wishbone bushes... I read in last years 911P&W replacement Polyurethane Bushes are available which are much more cost effective £100 a set(?) then the entire arms at £200 each ! using a specialist (AmD) who confirms that I would need to replace the both lower arms with bushes... as they aren't so keen on the poly bushes,,

The issue is ride quality and will it be too firm to live with, in view that this is my daily car and track day car ! but on the not so hard Bilsteins and 17" rubber will I cope ? anyone else tried Polyurethane Bushes ?

Sundeep,

Don't you trust the replies over on PCGB :D

Bilsteins and M030 springs will stiffen up your ride a lot, which will be more noticable in a targa. Who told you that the Bilsteins are soft? Maybe you meant Boge..........

those respones can be very one dimensional..

in view of my increasing track day activities poly bushes are a must !

sundeep, I know it is a while ago, but did you ever do the powerflex bushes on the targa? I'm about to get amd to do the powerflex bushes on my 993 2s, with KW variant 3s. Did you find it was fine for mostly road use? Or did you find that the ride was ultra bumpy, and skittish at the front?

Fitted the wishbone bushes myself (powerflex) as the front bushes were shot and the handling a bit skittish, only problem I had was the rear bushes were too small for the wishbone and had to leave those in,they were in good condition anyway. I did measure the bore for the rears bushes when I sent them back to Powerflex and they have sent me a replacement set back but have forgotten the bore dia and don't want to remove them if the dia is incorrect again...if anyone knows the rear dia's would appreciate the info. I found the bushes were a great improvement over the stock bushes and fitting only took about an hour. I am looking for someone with the correct equipment and more importantly who knows how to use it for my third, 4 whl alignment.. within a sensible radius of Barnsley/Doncaster, if anyone has any suggestions???

St, I must have completely missed this post, but in the end for the cost I ended up fitting new porsche wishbones instead as back then not manat garages seemed to be able to do the job at a cost effective rate

when fitted it shouldn't effect the ride at all, slightly harder but the spring, shocks and antiroll bars will have more to say on that
