I have just taken the plunge and bought myself a 993 turbo.

Its been sitting the last 18months (garaged) and only done 1000kms in the last yr prior to that.

I've had it checked by the agent who tell me everything is ok.

The problem is that I have been told (by several people) if the car is stood you can face numerous problems???

Can anyone enlighten me on this?? What (if any) problems should I look out for now and have rectified??

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Congrats on the new arrival!

Cars like to be used and electrics and hydraulics can play up after the car has just sat around for ages. Also, brake discs can become corroded/seized and tyres flat-spotted. Also the oil will need chnaging.

Best thing maybe is to get the car looked at by a good independent Porsche specialist who can give it a good check over. Sounds as though new brake fluid might be a good idea.

Get things fixed if need be, and after that - enjoy! Assuming the car is a good one in the first place, the main risk is of a few niggling faults, maybe - nothing catastrophic. However, you DO need tyres and brakes in top condition.
