Why are there so many crap 993's around?

I did the london/scotland thing, flew up PPI'd it then drove back. Had spoken to previous owner (911 Specialist, he owned it himself and sold it to a customer).

Like I said b4 I think private is the way to go.

If your looking at spending 28K, why don't you consider a 964Turbo2. For a low mileage it will cost peanuts to insure and run. And power shouldn't be an issue!
