Had a test drive of the 997 Carrera yesterday! Very very nice car. It was a tiptro - very nice, the tipro has improved a lot on the new model. The current transmissions are made by a Japanese company - I own a 2003 C2 Tiptro and having jumped into one from the other was very pleasantly surprised. The pull away, the 'kickdown' etc were much better! Will write more later!
