I'm thinking of buying a 911SC. Any tips of things to look out for or ask about? Can anyone suggest a good Porsche mechanic in the Bangor, Wales area who could do a thorough pre-purchase inspection for me?

All help appreciated,

MadMan

Hi MMM,

I checked in a french magazine about 911SC. They say it's a reliable car and the only problem known is a weakness of the chain tightener which has to be changed around 100.000km (+-62000Mi). Normally this car should'nt be sold above 16000€ in very good conditions. No particular trap, but as it is an old model, expect problem in relation with the age: clutch, engine etc...

Cheers

J.P.
