Hello all,

I've been looking to get into a GT4 for some time now (specifically 981 as I prefer its bum over the 718) and I see prices are ever changing, as the below link for a decent example shows!

At the risk of sounding insensitive in the current climate, anyone care to predict where they'll bottom out? Sub £60k would have sounded insane a year ago, yet here we are...

Without wishing to be the actual prophet of doom, there's a long long way to go, who knows how long. Plus the new 6 pot 718 GTS will surely also an have an effect, id hold out for a certain bargain over the summer, things arent getting back to normal anytime soon, and wont ever do for some. In short its a great time to buy, dont feel guilty! :wink:
 
I just cant recommend them enough. So what if you lose money?
very special drivers car and would keep it forever if I could
 
:eek: £59k for a Clubsport spec GT4 with all the right options including PCCB! What's not to like?

Mileage should put this car in the mid 60s so at advertised price looks cheap.

Needless to say how much of those 30k miles have been on track so do your due diligence in relation to over-revs, PCCB wear etc.. Don't know what the 'Platinum scheme' is and wonder why it's not got OPC warranty given the servicing regime. Suggests he bought it outside the network.

Does/had it had the gearbox recall. I'm assuming so if needed.

New 718 GTS 4.0 likely to affect 718 GT4 values as the flipper prices begin to reflect. Whilst the 718 GT4 is a production run they 981 was limited in number and is v1 so all the better IMHO.

As a GT4 owner I'm not much of a car critic but giving it a run over the Snake Pass the other day they hold the road like shiote to a blanket and the brakes are a tight as the hinge on Jonttt's carbon wallet.
 
Managed to get mine serviced and MOT'd Monday, probably its only trip out this year now.....
 
The feedback from those in the know suggest this car is £5K below original base price (after 4 years, 30k miles) and if you are not fussed on mileage then it is a 'cracking' buy.

Given the position of the market there might be the opportunity for a few bags off. When the market recovers at the price it should hold itself firm.

There's a bit of creasing to the leather on the drivers seat but that is a general complaint of the 918 design as they can look like that at less than 5k miles :roll:

Agreed, but given they were £75k - £90k 18 months ago, it is quite the change... I'm not fussed about PCCBs (other than they look cool as fook) but will be fascinating to see what happens in the coming months, especially with circa 10 currently unsold that are under £70k...

I see even 996 GT3s have started to dip under £60k now, with a white 997 GT3 with 50,000miles also at £60k.

The drivers Porsches are finally starting to become achievable for the "masses"... :floor:
 
OPCs and most other specialist dealers won't discount to flog them as they know there'll be an adjustment when this is (hopefully) all over. Smaller garages who need to release cash and private sellers is another matter.

I've never financed* a car but I wonder what the GFV would be on a 981GT4 2yrs from now?

I don't think anyone should be buying a high value/specialist car now unless it's at a price that is :eek:

(* I'm excluding a new Fiat Cinqucento in 1990 when I got 5yrs @ 0% interest :floor: )
 
I've just made a offer of £55k on one with a ok spec.

It's nearly £10k below the asking price, so I'm not sure if I'll even get a reply.

I don't think it was a bad offer in the current climate?

It's been sat for over 6 months before coronavirus.

I agree about smaller garages needing to shift depreciating assets.

The Fiat Cinq we had for about 10yrs and never let us down. Chopped it in for the updated model - again no issues. sold privately to some old chap who was impressed with the compact rear shelf that despite its smallish size when he placed his trilby it wouldn't obscure his rear vision :thumb:

@K78 you've offered £10k below list on one. Best of luck - doubtful they'll bite. There are some with <10k miles and decent spec at the mid 60s so if you picked one up for c60 bags its a good opportunity.

Lots of questions whether Porsche will extend the production run of the 718GT4 of close off as planned.

I think the game changer will be 718GT4 RS with PDK if/when it goes to production. At the likely pricepoint it should be the one to have.

I'm not holding my breath.

It's a tough one. Not much was selling pre coronavirus so £60k is more than I would be comfortable with at the moment.

I'll keep a eye on things over the next few months. I think there will be a lot of PCP cars being returned, and not so many buyers.

I appreciate a 981 gt4 would not be on pcp but the car market as a whole will be hit hard.

This is only 2 miles away so i took a chance with the offer. I would not be comfortable travelling a distance for a car at the moment.

Looking at the 718 GT4's on AT they aren't selling for overs and if the run is extended they will surely depreciate?

A GT4 RS pdk would be awesome but outside of my price bracket. Surely it would be GT3 money?
