Hi just wondering if any one has had any success in converting the original stereo to recieve bluetooth streaming music

I tried fitting an adapter I bought from Amazon for £28 that worked apart from the music only played out of the passenger side speakers..

I have seen another system that is £78 that may work better..

Any ideas want to keep the stereo original but with modern music streaming

I installed a Yatour device which gives both Bluetooth music & handsfree via the CD port on the back of the CR22 using the CDC button & it works on all the speakers. The VDO/Continental head unit (Tr7412ub) seems to be getting good reviews though is clearly a 3 figure 'fix".

I've got the double din PCM 1.0. I have a DAB receiver that works fine with the radio, but I got fed up with iffy DAB signal and fiddling with it so I'm waiting on the remaining parts to upgrade the unit to a touchscreen Pioneer.

No idea why yours might only play through one side of the speakers, it's just receiving a FM transmission, you can have mine for a few quid if you want.

For those wishing to retain period correct looks, along with OEM quality, with Bluetooth technology, I've just placed a Becker in the 'Porsche Car Parts For Sale & Wants' forum, along with several other goodies:

If you're not fussed about retaining the CD changer then one of these is the cheapest and simplest way of adding Bluetooth to the standard Becker:

Been doing sterling service for years over a couple of different 996's now.

If memory serves I think I had to tweak the power connection to run off switched live rather than permanent, just to stop the bluetooth being active when the car is off.

Can't go too wrong for £8!

Just installed something very similar from ebay - comes with a mic as well for the full calling capability - only about a tenner. No splicing or tapping in for additional power suppies required, plug and play once you enable the AUX setting on the radio. Whole lot took about 20 mis as the release keys were difficult to get out until I checked YouTube

Ran the microphone to the instrument cluster at top of rev counter. Works a treat, highly recommend it.

Just be aware that many of these adapters are wired to the 12v permanent.

You need to snip that and put it on the 12v switched so you don't drain your battery.

You can tell if it is on 12v permanent instead of switched as it won't auto connect when you get in the car if it is.

I use one of these myself, £10 or so and great sound.
