Howdy,
If I were to change the centre console from the sandy beige to Red, what's the best way? Strip it out and re paint, or buy a new one?

Buy a spare and paint that, you've got the original then if you ever sold the car :thumb:

Very much this :agree:

eBay as long as the unit is solid. scratches etc not an issue. Buying a full console and all the bits in one deal isn't easy, but colour ain't an issue as it all gets painted anyway. Mines metropole, sand and black underneath.

Think others have DIY'd it and got good results. Wicked have done a lot including mine a few years ago and it's still perfect.
 
So far, all the consoles that I could paint on eBay have the hatches and lids missing, still, there's no real rush I guess!

The cars still drivable with the centre console removed. I sent mine to Wicked Coatings in Poole Dorset they are a coatings specialist they will strip it and repaint it . then you can refit your beige armrest and put it back in the car . :thumb: or buy one off ebay get it painted and then fit your beige armrest to the new one.

Jimi, I recon you have more 997 bits in your garage than me mate and would put the OPC spares dept. to shame :grin: :grin: :thumb:
