Hi,

My 2005 997 C2 has been in winter storage since October and i noticed this morning that there is a small oil spot on the floor.

On inspection it looks to be originating from a large nut from the very rear of the car....apologies for the photo's....its the best i could manage with my phone.

From my research i cant decide if its RMS or something else ?

Looks like there has been some oil around there for some time, hard to be sure. I would clean it all up and drive it and then look again. Is it coming from above the nut ? Could be fms, was going to suggest IMS until I saw the last pic and realised its the wrong end of the engine lol

Thanks Darkhorse ....From the engine number is appears to have the large IMS bearing..

Interestingly, Revolution did the RMS seal in 2015 ..maybe it needs looking at again ?

Could it be the AOS i wonder ?

Looks to me that it is the bottom of your oil pump, item 4 in the picture. Assuming that is, that I have envisaged the front/back orientation correctly :D

Cheers...yes that certainly looks like the large nut where the drip seems to stem from.

Thanks Infrasilver..

If it's higher up and not this spring / washer..what else might it be?

(Every day is a school day) !

Cheers
