And once you have one, go buy a Ice Hockey Puck to put on the jacks lifting pad.

I use a halfords low profile one, got it a good few years back when the had some 50% sale on, so it cost hardly anything.
 
I use a 2 tonne low profile from machine mart. It's ideal because the jacking lever is on a pivot which rotates it left or right so it's ideal for jacking cars up in a garage where you might struggle with these monster levered 3t jobs.

Another point on the weight thing. people seem to be going total overkill with the weight. If you lift 1 side or 1 end of a 996 you aren't lifting 1500kg. One side or end is still on the ground. Similar point on axle stands. 2t rated stands are PER STAND. Jack up one side of end and stick it on stands, each stand isn't carrying 1500kg.
