Re: Polyurethane Gearbox Mount

Hello All...
Having recently joined this excellent forum I thought I should make my first post
I have just received my new polyurethane gearbox mount made by Cantrell Motorsport in the US. I was wondering if anyone has any experience of the product...?
I am guessing my 01 Carrera 4 Coupe (52000 miles) is on its original mount and thought trying to add the Powerflex inserts would be a waste of time and money if the rubber has collapsed.
As I have just fitted Rennline engine mounts using the (blue 85A collars) as the originals were totally shot.. I thought it would be worth matching them up with the 85A poly mount that Rennline are selling..

A G96 gearbox mount has two bolt holes through it. I'm not sure what you've got there, but it doesn't look like the right part to me.

Yep you're right I've got the wrong ones.. Having looked into it further it would appear the single bolt bushes are for a tiptronic gearbox.. Pity they don't appear to do the 2 bolt hole version for the manual car in Polyurethane as they are a real quality product..

If anyone is interested in purchasing them please PM me as I don't fancy spending 25 bucks sending them back to the States..

I have the Powerflex insert and it's a great peice of kit. I stongly recommend it. Your existing bush would have to be very very far gone indeed for the Powerflex not to be an option, and it's much much easier to fit than a new bush. The gearbox needs to come out to fit the new standard bush, whereas the Powerflex can be easily done in situ with nothing more than a basic socket set and a spanner or two.
