Fantastic plate if you're lucky enough to own a 918.

I bought this from the DVLA auction a couple of years ago in the hope of buying a 718 but the purchase fell through.

Including all fees plate owes me nearly £4k, I was previously looking for around £3k but I've been offered something interesting so for a quick sale will accept £1,500 ovno only until the end of Feb '20, after then I'll stick it back in the draw.

Plate is currently on retention.

I'd be putting that in an email to all the OPC network andvtru and striking a deal via them.

Thanks, I'd not tried the OPC's, but did email all the specialists who had a 918 for sale. One responded with an offer of £500! 🤬I refrained from responding.

postage was £500

I like car specific plates BUT the problem with this one is the target market and the fact it is a standard format ie people with a 918 tend to have much more expensive plates at their disposal to put on the car than a standard format plate IMHO :dont know:

I don't normally comment on numberplate threads but I just can't see how this owes you £4K?

The plate sold in Feb for £2700 here:-

https://dvlaregistrations.dvla.gov....tion-plates.html?searched=true&plate=Hot+918s

Then you add 8% auction fees and vat at 20% and you end up about £3499

Winny

Nope definitely just shy of £4k, VAT on hammer price, then fees, then VAT on fees, you've also missed off the assignment fee albeit at £80.

I assure people I'm not trying to make anything on this...and will accept a loss on this.

How sad must you be to use your time to sound this out and make something of it....
It's his story and his sale, if he choose to make 10 million profit thats his business..... do you also go to Currys / Argos etc and question their purchase cost of Fridges and TV's, or Porsche UK about their retail pricing since they mark up near to 26% of manufacturing cost?

You must be an absolute ---- to deal with when looking to buy a used car.
If you're not interested - leave it be and move on!

:dont know:

Woppum owns a 918, give hime a shout. Although all his cars have name 'related' registrations.

Lovett's might be interested :?:
