Hi All,

Im looking for speaker options for the 996.1c2 coupe. The head unit has been upgraded to the Pioneer SPH DA 120 by the previous owner. It just lacks bass with oem speakers, what are my options?

Should I just purchase a bose sub for the rear shelf as that seems the logical space or is there another option?

if the Bose unit that goes behind the seats contains an amp that should be fairly straightforward - just run a cable from the HU.

If it's not amplified then it's more complex - although not hugely, as you can get some quite powerful yet small amps.

Thanks Damit,

I have the bose sub in the Turbo S but am not sure if the unit is amplified or separate... Shall take a look when I get time.

Otherwise I have seen a few slimline subs with built in amps, so always an option.

I suspect this will be a Christmas pressie and/or job and will update you all then.

I have a BOSE Sub in my Garage. It is not amplified.

I used it in my old 996, powered directly by my Pioneer headunit (it had direct sub drive output).

I needed to replace the Sub speakers to get the correct 2 Ohms required by the headunit..

Good to know. Thanks.

According to the intructions for your headunit, It looks like it can drive the subwoofer directly as well...

2 Ohm, 70 Watt..

Sorry to highjack thread, but I'm looking for some new aftermarket speakers that will fit the original 996 recesses to be powered from standard CDR-22 for now (until I can find a suitable Becker GP)

Not looking for huge base or anything, just good sound quality without distortion.
Any recommendations on speakers to fit (PS I don't even know what size the originals are so that would even help  )

My Becker Cascade Pro is up for sale as of today, should you (or, indeed, anyone) be interested in it. It's been recently serviced by a specialist and has 2017 maps on it.

£400 takes it away.

Thanks for the offer Dammit and sounds great but the head unit for me is a little way down the line as I have a few other bits I'd rather spend on 1st.
Thanks anyway

You can't advise on speakers whilst you're there :floor: :hand:

All the best :thumb:

Wow, sounds like a nice set-up
My very early 996.1 doesn't have front door speakers, only dash and rears so would only look at replacements for those for now :thumb:
