I''ve decided to expand on the GT3C theme. Just for fun.

Have to agree with the comments on this page.

I love to modify my cars. It just is what it is.

I have a CAE shifter ready to go in:

A marmite mod if there ever was one.

That is just pure car porn :cloud9:

Final call.

Just for fun, and whilst I order a black 911 badge.

I have a modified 'C" in stock so I'm going to badge it one of these to confuse (& possibly upset) a few purists at the next Ace Cafe meet.

Can't wait for your comments. :D

BTW. The CT3 was officially used by TechArt for a 993 special edition. Who knew that!
GTC & GTE both on, ahem, Vauxhall Astras

I think you should stop worrying about what other people think.....

Do whatever you think is right. I think your car looks ace by the way.

My car is completely modded and i love it, i know it may upset some people that think owning a Porsche is a massive deal. But this is a sub 20k car. My wife's Mini cost more 😂

:yeah:

Don't remember you asking permission with the 996 :dont know:

As I said before, your car = your decision :thumb:

+1 to comments above.

In the words of Paris Hilton or probably someone on TOWIE...

"Oh my god doh, do what u want, joo know what tigh meeeen"

I've spent the last few weeks tinkering with the car ahead of a Wales driving holiday this weekend. (Can't bloody wait. Hope the weather is kind).

I've removed the H&R front springs to give the front spoiler lip a chance of surviving the London speed humps. The car had been lowered but the car was left with about 5mm of travel before taking up the new bump stops. Back to standard springs whilst I explore a bespoke nose lift idea. The ride has been transformed and I'm super happy with the result.

I've removed the front bumper lights and polished out 80% of the gravel rash. I've also ordered some Philips filament 501 bulbs to replace the LED bulbs fitted by the last owner. I went LED mad in the 996, but I'm kinda liking this car being the last of the non LED Porsche's.

So. Where am I at with the GT3 delete? Well........

.......I'm quite enjoying investigating the subtle cosmetic differences between a standard 997.1 & a 997.1 GT3.

I was lucky enough to find the spoiler less switch pack which is only found on the GT2/GT3 cars. This has been fitted & the TC off switch is working. Result.

So. I'm thinking to tweak a few more items to make it a little more of a cosmetic clone.

Want to join me on the adventure?

First quite obvious visual detail that is bugging me is that the Aerokit spoiler is lacking the 2 raised intakes & the gurney strip.

The genuine parts are not cheap. But I have located these carbon versions.
I could paint these (still much cheaper that OEM plastic ones. Crazy huh?)
Or leave them carbon? What do you think?

So. I don't think Bose was available on any GT3 but it was possible to spec the multifunction steering wheel. Here's a 997.1.5 GT2 with one fitted.

I love the convenience of mine so I'll be keeping the rear seats, Bose & MF wheel for now.

So have you removed the GT3 badge off the engine lid yet?

If not you've gone from 'How much GT3 wish-it-was tat do I delete?" to 'Oh I'm adding more GT3 wish-it-was tat and not even genuine Porsche parts".

Oh dear. :nooo:

This may not end well.

Things already done.

GT3 front bumper vent.
Full Genuine Aerokit.
GT3 door sills.
GT3 wheels & centres.
GT3 instrument cluster & DME coded to GT3 RS 2007
GT3 rear bumper with centre exhaust exit
GT3 style centre exit exhaust
GT3 non spoiler switch pack
GT3 style Alcantara handbrake, gearshift gaiter & steering wheel re-trim with straight ahead market in yellow
GT3 style speed yellow seat belts
GT3 RS style fabric door pulls
Wheel spacers
Quick-shift.
H&R springs & Bilsteins. (In the process of removal/adjustment)
Non sunroof & non rear wiper helps the look.

Things to do will follow.

The carbon scoops from Porscheshop are a reasonable price is that the ones your talking about . they seem half the price of some of the others . the gurney needs to stay black but its personal if you paint or leave carbon the scoops . I am not sure that going back to stock ride hight might lose the GT stance . fully understand the H&R are too low for your needs they are the lowest of the three main brands , but would look at either techart springs which are the least drop of the main brands or search out some used coilovers . TBH getting the stance and hight right are more important to achieving the aggressive GT look than the scoops and gurney so that would be where my money went first. :thumb: keep us posted as its an interesting thread :thumb:

oh yes and are you getting the alcantara lower dash to finish the interior , mine is aftermarket retrimmed as you can see compared to the OE gear knob and gator an excellent match

Love the Alcantara dash. I will add that to my Trimmer's to do list.

As for the standard front springs. It's just a short term fix whilst I consider a permanent fix to ride height/comfort balance.

Here's a quick shot of the car as it stands (from last Ace meet).

Keep the scoops carbon for me :thumb:

Might look quite subtle on my colour hey?

Here's the car on H&R's all round. Nicer stance. But undriveable.
