Touch up or re spray?

So my daily driver is on 167,000 miles.

Quite a few stone chips to the front bumper, bonnet and even one on the roof!

Some minor parking scratches/ chips on the door edges, the dreaded wiper scratches on the rear window pillar and a couple of marks on the rear bumper.
Basically, every panel has a blemish.
Still looks like a pretty tidy car, but with those miles on it, is it worth a full re spray, or just a touch up?

Interested to hear your thoughts.

Rich. :dont know:

Looks great. Leave it and just touch up.
Best to keep original as long as possible, even if you re-paint , similar bumps and scratches would still happen.
Save the money for the engine if it has never had work..

Paintwork

I think it depends how long you are planning on keeping the car. If it is going to be your pride and joy for years to come then go for some tidying.
My mate has just had the bumpers, bonnet. front wings, door bottoms and tailgate done to a high standard on his 140000mile 11yr old A4 avant.
It cost him double what the car is worth but he is happy and the car looks superb. Such a great colour misano red.

Yeah, think I'll just do the minimal tidy and save for engine etc!
All the blemishes disappear in the rain anyway!

Anyone else always head for the end car park space!?

Absolutely. Then try and overhang as much as is decent.

I wouldn't dream of parking anywhere else...!!

There are companies on the internet who will mix up a touch-up bottle of paint with a tiny brush for about £11. (you just need to supply a paint code)

That will sort your stone chips and any small deep scratches.

The rest can be sorted with some cutting and polishing compounds and a cheap orbital polisher.

All you need is some time and a lot of patience :D

I think your looks great....
I have some dodgy areas on mine, I am planning to get it painted Miami Blue though 😂 so not for long....

Always try to park away from everyone and always come back to neighbours. Even in an empty car park
