It's a bit confusing, but the key part of the excerpt / image you included in your post is the last sentence, which says torque values are the same whether the Sport button is on or off
Ahhhh... I've just worked out what that excerpt from the manual is trying to say. When the exhaust valves are open, there is a natural drop in torque as there is less back pressure in the exhaust system. The car therefore adjusts the map to bring torques values back UP (hence the torque increase) to where they are normally with the valves closed. Hence the torque values are the same whether the Sport button is on or off...
